TBA’s ‘Quezon’ adds a familiar Scotsman to its cast

Iain Glen, who played Ser Jorah Mormont in ‘Game of Thrones,’ joins TBA’s upcoming historical biopic.

FOLLOWING THE ANNOUNCEMENT of its lead actor playing the title role, Jerrold Tarog’s long-awaited historical biopic casts another big name to its cast, as revealed at the recently-wrapped HK FilMart.

Iain Glen, the stone-faced familiar to Danaerys Targaryen in HBO’s much-beloved series, Game Of Thrones, is joining TBA Studios’ ‘Bayaniverse.’ He will play Leonard Wood, a U.S. Army Major who served as governor-general of the Philippines in the ’20s, and an instrumental figure in Manuel L. Quezon’s quest for the country’s independence from the United States.

The film, titled — simply — Quezon, chronicles the life of the second president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines (1935-1944). It’s directed by Jerrold Tarog, who also helmed the first two film in his planned Bayani Trilogy: Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.

Joining Glen is a stacked cast of Filipino actors, including its lead Jericho Rosales, as well as Mon Confiado, Benjamin Alves, Karylle Yuzon, Romnick Sarmenta, J.C. Santos and Cris Villanueva.

The filmmakers and studio have yet to announce an official release date.
