A PRIDE-FULL GIFT to Filipino cinephiles, QCinema’s RainbowQC — a three-day pocket program screening select queer features and shorts — is happening from June 25th–27th in Gateway Cineplex 18.
What used to be a small section tucked within QCinema’s main program, RainbowQC is getting its own Pride Film Festival, happening alongside the city’s official celebration of Pride Month. The selection hopes to highlight films that “reflect the richness and complexity of queer experiences.”

There are four feature films screening at RainbowQC: Andrew Ahn’s The Wedding Banquet, a reimagining of Ang Lee’s 1993 film; Leonie Krippendorff’s Kokon, a German coming-of-age film; Darko Štante’s Consequences, a Slovenian film that looks at power, desire, and masculinity; and Petersen Vargas’ much-talked-about Some Nights I Feel Like Walking, a grimy drama about young hustlers in Manila.
In addition to these features, QCinema will also screen five RainbowQC shorts, curated by film critic, Jason Tan Liwag. The selection includes Myra Angeline Soriaso’s A Catholic Schoolgirl, Lino Balmes’ Microplastics, Whammy Alcazaren’s Water Sports, Apa Agbayani’s Abutan Man Tayo ng Houselights, and JT Trinidad’s The River That Never Ends.

Tickets will set patrons back anywhere from PHP 150 to PHP 300. RainbowQC shorts are FREE to the public.
