‘Weapons’ teaser probes into a string of eerie disappearances

The latest from ‘Barbarian’ filmmaker looks into the chilling vanishing of multiple suburban children.

WHAT DO YOU SEE THAT I DON’T?

Warner Brothers has dropped the sixty-second teaser for Weapons, the latest horror film from Barbarian-filmmaker, Zach Cregger. It features clips of children, seemingly entranced, darting across suburban streets at night. The buzz over the teaser comes from its premiere at the 2025 CinemaCon, over which viewers kind of went nuts in social media.

The film’s buzz comes from its marketing, which centers on the website MaybrookMissing.com. The site speaks of all seventeen but one suburban kid eerily disappearing on the same night at the same time, at 2:17 AM. The site also recaps the events from Barbarian, presenting it as another cold case.

Weapons boasts a stacked cast, top-billed by Josh Brolin, whom I think we’re hearing in the teaser’s V.O. He joins the film cast with Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. Cregger directs from his own screenplay.

Weapons opens in U.S. theaters August 8th, 2025, which means we’ll likely see it either August 6th or 13th in Philippine theaters.
